Home Care that is Making Lives Better
Nurse Next Door is a premium home care brand, with a core purpose of Making Lives Better. We believe, deeply, that everyone can live a life filled with Positivity, Possibility and Purpose, which is why we work to get our clients back to doing the things they love to do.
We are Passionate about Making a Difference by reconnecting people with interests, hobbies, and passions that might have gotten lost amid busy schedules, health concerns, or other distractions. It could be something simple such as tabletop gardening for those with a green thumb or learning how to cook a new dish, because love is in the details!
When we meet our clients for the first time, we ask them, “What do you love doing but you no longer do?” and work to infuse that into every visit. It’s about the little things and really connecting with our clients.
At the first visit, we ask our clients
What did you use to love doing that you can no longer do?

Our Brand
In a space as competitive as home care, you need a brand that turns heads. The Nurse Next Door brand’s icon is a flower-heart bursting with joy in the colors yellow and pink. It symbolises our core purpose of Making Lives Better and unique trademark concept of Happier Ageing™.
Our bold brand serves as a huge advantage when our Franchise Partners are in the community. The pop of colours and our equally bright attitudes makes us stand out from the crowd—quite literally!
Skilled Care
Nurse Next Door offers all components of care, from companionship right up to skilled nursing. Our support team will guide you through the state licensing process. This allows you to be the one-stop-shop for home care, expanding your reach of clients in the community.
Whether it’s a little help around the house with chores, meal prep, personal care or nursing care, we can do the caring. We provide premium home care to both older Australians and people living with a disability, so they can continue to live happily at home!
Our Core Purpose is Making Lives Better™
We bring this to life everyday through our Core Values
Our Core Values
Why our health care business partners thrive
Many companies have core values in their mission statement, but few truly live by them. Nurse Next Door is one of those few.
Core values are part of our DNA — it is the filter that our Leadership Team uses for decision-making, how our caregivers engage with clients, and how those who are lucky enough to become a Franchise Partner operate their business.
Admire People
Our clients aren’t just case files. They’re real people.
Wow Customer Service
“Good” just won’t do. We don’t rest until we’ve exceeded expectations.
Find a Better Way
We try new things and grow through innovation.
Passionate About Making a Difference
We look for people who genuinely care about what they’re doing.
The Nurse Next Door Story – Australia
Founders of Nurse Next Door Australia, Amber Biesse and Matt Fitton, were living in Vancouver, Canada when they noticed the pink Nurse Next Door cars driving around their local neighbourhood and decided to look them up.
Amber and Matt realised that the chance to build a business with heart, work with people who were passionate about making a difference and lead a purpose driven company centred around Making Lives Better was an incredible opportunity.
Having already identified that the combination of an ageing population and the NDIS revolutionising the disability space, was creating compelling business advantages for entrepreneurs. With a new strategic focus in the Australian market on the end consumer, in terms of customer service and client experience, ironically requiring a “hospitality” mindset – Amber and Matt knew that they could create something special in Australia with the brand and launched Nurse Next Door into the Australian market in 2018.

The Nurse Next Door Story – Canada
Co-founders John DeHart and Ken Sim found an opportunity when Ken’s wife went on emergency bed rest while pregnant.
Looking into the home health care business industry further, John and Ken found sterile businesses that provided the basics, making life only slightly more bearable for their clients. They knew that they could create something better and launched Nurse Next Door in 2001.
